Changes to the privacy and cookie policy

Our privacy and cookie policy may be expanded or amended in the near future. We therefore recommend checking this page regularly for changes. If these changes are very significant, we will ensure they are communicated clearly and prominently.  [Version 1.2 – January 2022]

Security measures

Woub uses Cloudflare to secure its web infrastructure. AWS Security Groups and Network ACL are used to restrict access to Woub's systems. Public access is limited to ports 443 and 80 on the load balancers for public traffic. Monitoring systems detect various types of attacks and notify the Woub team.

Data centres and data locations

Woub is hosted on the Amazon Web Services (‘AWS’) EC2 platform. The physical servers are in AWS's EU EC2 data centres. AWS currently holds certifications for compliance with ISO/IEC 27001:2013, 27017:2015 and 27018:2014, is certified as a PCI DSS 3.2 Level 1 Service Provider, and undergoes SOC 1, SOC 2 and SOC 3 audits with six-monthly reports. Further details of AWS's compliance programmes are available on the AWS website: https://aws.amazon.com/security/ . All user data is stored within AWS's EU regions, mainly in Germany.

Backup policy

Data stored in Woub is backed up regularly. A full database backup is made once every 24 hours and retained for 3 days. All backups are encrypted and stored in several geographically separate locations. Files uploaded to Woub are handled differently. Backups are made using Amazon S3's internal redundancy mechanism and stored in multiple locations. More information is available on the AWS website: https://aws.amazon.com/s3/

Operations

Woub is designed to keep the cloud service running even if the primary underlying infrastructure fails. Each Woub component has a secondary service running concurrently with mirrored data at a different AWS location from the primary server. Because reliable access to your company's important projects and data is crucial, Woub is designed to withstand the failure of a single availability zone without prolonged service interruptions. In the unlikely event that two Amazon EC2 availability zones experience prolonged service interruptions, Woub will recover in an alternative EC2 availability zone with limited service interruption.

Uptime

Over the past two years, Woub has achieved 99.9% uptime. All incidents or maintenance activities are communicated on the Woub status page: https://woub.statuspage.io/
