Woub is looking for a React Native Developer (mid-level+)

Ready to work your React Native magic at a fast-growing SaaS scale-up in friendly Wateringen? We are looking for a React Native Developer (mid-level+) to transform our Cordova app into a fast, polished mobile experience. Someone who excels at coding and appreciates the occasional nerdy joke ☕️!

Who are we?

We are Woub, a close-knit team of around 20 enthusiastic professionals working towards one mission: giving 1,000,000 people greater peace of mind at work. Our project communication app is used daily by thousands of tradespeople in construction. We help them collaborate more efficiently, with more structure and less hassle.

We are growing by 200% a year across Europe. It is time to strengthen our development team with a technical leader who will make a difference with us.

What will you do?

  • Rewrite our Cordova app as a brand-new React Native app with Expo, using modern libraries such as NativeWind for styling and TanStack for state management to create a result built for the future.

  • Develop new features based on user feedback and our roadmap: your work directly affects tradespeople on site.

  • Test with Jest and optimise performance so the app runs quickly and reliably on all supported devices.

  • Connect the app to our existing REST APIs with a Laravel back end, and ensure data synchronises smoothly between mobile and desktop.

  • Coordinate with the Product Owner and the web team, our desktop app's front-end developers, to keep the mobile and desktop experiences aligned.

  • Publish new app versions in the Apple App Store and Google Play Store, and keep the release process running smoothly.

  • Bring AI to construction. Help shape useful AI features such as conversation summaries and AI support for voice and video calls. Real value for our users, without the hype.

What will you bring?

  • Several years of experience with React Native and TypeScript (knowledge of Expo is a bonus).

  • Experience with mobile development and publishing apps in the App Store and Google Play.

  • An interest in mobile UX/UI: you understand what makes a good mobile user experience, or are willing to learn.

  • You can work independently and take responsibility, but also en

  • joy working in a team to exchange ideas and collaborate when needed.

  • Fluent English is essential: it is our working language. Do you also speak Dutch? That is a bonus!

What do we offer? 🎁

  • Salary: €4,000 – €5,500 gross on a full-time basis

  • SAR scheme: Share in Woub's success

  • Bonus: At least €1,000 gross a year

  • Pension: 100% employer contribution

  • 25 days' holiday

  • Training budget: €2,000 a year

  • Flexibility: Work where and when you perform best

  • Your choice of setup: Mac, Linux or Windows

  • Exercise during working hours: Company fitness 2x a week, padel 1x a quarter

  • Quarterly parties: from team outings to surprise events

  • Daily lunch: Provided at the office

Our culture

  • Customer-focused: One fan a day.

  • Driven: A little better every day.

  • Friends: Honest, enthusiastic and caring.

  • Independent-minded: Dare to be different. 100% you.

  • Eager to learn: Making mistakes is OK. Experiment.

  • Humour: Do not eat bananas while making eye contact.

What is the application process?

We like to keep the process personal and to the point:

  1. Apply: Apply at the bottom of the page or email your CV & GitHub link to suraj@woub.chat

  2. Introduction by phone or video: We have a voice or video call to see whether we click

  3. First interview: You meet our tech leads and stakeholders. We explore your experience, our technology and how you like to work in more detail.

  4. Case study/assignment: Are we both enthusiastic? You then receive a short case study or assignment to show how you think, build and make decisions. We keep it relevant and realistic.

  5. Second interview: You present your case study and meet a ‘friend’: a colleague from another team. That gives you a feel for the culture and the wider team straight away.

  6. Offer: At Woub, the team makes the decision, rather than management. The team of friends gives the go-ahead. If it feels right on both sides, we make you an offer you will be happy with.
